Service/Procedure Summary
The Digestive Care & Endoscopy (formerly Gastroenterology) Division at the Nova Scotia Health Authority Central Zone provides secondary and tertiary care to patients with gastrointestinal diseases in both Nova Scotia and the Atlantic Provinces at large. The Division provides expertise in liver disease for the entire Atlantic Region.
The wait time is for new patients and is based on the time between when the referral was received by the division and the appointment date of the patient. The Division is currently collaborating with the Nova Scotia Health Authority to develop wait time information for endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy.
